Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 Auction: Rahul Dravid’s Son Samit Joins Mysore Warriors

Indian batting legend Rahul Dravid’s son, Samit Dravid, has been purchased by Mysore Warriors for his base price of ₹50,000 at the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 player auction held on Thursday, July 25. Notably, Rahul Dravid coached the Indian team to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup held in the West Indies and the United States.

The auction saw some exciting buys, with L Revanna Chethan emerging as the most expensive player. The top-order batter, who was placed in Category B with a base price of ₹1 lakh, was acquired by Bengaluru Blasters for ₹8.6 lakh. Chethan previously played for Gulbarga Mystics in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20.

Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna was also a notable purchase, secured by Mysore Warriors for ₹1 lakh. Initially listed in Category A with a base price of ₹2 lakh, he was later moved to Category B. Prasidh underwent quadriceps surgery in February this year, making his return to the auction a significant event.

Among other big buys, leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal was the second-highest purchase, going to Mangaluru Dragons for ₹7.6 lakh. Gopal, known for his T20 experience and batting abilities, was a hot commodity at the auction. Off-spinner K Gowtham and left-arm spinner J Suchith were also picked up by Mysore Warriors for ₹7.4 lakh and ₹4.8 lakh, respectively.

Additionally, other Category A players made impressive moves: Pravin Dubey was bought by Gulbarga Mystics for ₹6.8 lakh, and KC Cariappa went to Hubli Tigers for ₹4.2 lakh.
